Responsible Business and Society

Responsible Business and Society is the core research and policy facilitation arm of CSRC in the area of busines and social sciences. The advisory board, associate fellows and research associates in this reserach division are committed to expanding support and facilitation for responsible markets and social eco systems. Areas of intervention are inclusive and green entrepreneurship, responsible leadership for busness and society, responsible curriculum development.

The research division is flourished around the theme that a values-based eco system for economic and business activieties such as value creation, value distribution and value exchange is central to sustainable growth and development.

The challenge for business leaders is to ensure the wider responsibilities of business are understood within their organisation and in society and to demonstrate how a responsible approach to business will help create value, distribute value and exhange value. Business leaders must be seen to act and demonstrate their commitment to creating a fairer society and a more sustainable future by fostering a culture that will encourage innovation, reward the right behaviours and regain trust. In short, leaders must write a new contract with society into their own business.
