Overview

The editorial members of 4th IRC 2019-MY Chapter at Putra Business School, UPM Malaysia invite applications for the participation in its signature event, Paper Development Workshop to be held on December 19, 2019 at Main Hall, Putra Business School, UPM Malaysia.

The objective of this workshop is to discuss, revise and improve papers that authors intend to publish in high quality journals including indexed in ABCD, SSCI, ABS and Scopus. The workshop will provide early career faculty and research scholars with developmental feedback on publication of their current research projects in high impact journals. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to indexed journals, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of research writing in a way that it impacts the academic community and policy makers.

We invite original papers from junior authors or junior faculty members who aspire to improve their papers to make those suitable for publication in quality journals.

Who should attend
Faculty members, doctoral and post-doctoral students who intend to develop their papers for either submission in the reputed journals. In particular, we hope to attract papers from scholars:

(1) who are located in universities in emerging economies or in universities that offer limited support for research writing or guide journal publication, and/or
(2) who have recently graduated PhD and now are aspiring to publish their PhD work and other current research projects in the areas of economics, business, social sciences and humanities in high quality and indexed journals.

Trainers Profile

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tengku Faekah Tengku Ariffin is currently serving at the School of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, UUM and also serving as editorial member of Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction (Scopus indexed). Her expert area is Educational Management, particularly Human Resource Management in Education. Her research interests and publications are in HRM or HRD in the educational context, particularly, on teacher development & performance; workplace socialization; workplace learning; professional learning community, teacher behaviour and teacher personality.

Besides that, she is also involved in research in related educational field, which includes and not limited to graduate employability, student learning and motivation.  Much of her research work includes instrument development and validation, and, structural equation modelling (SEM).  However, she has been involved in both quantitative and qualitative research. She is one of the authors and trainers for Learning Engagement and Motivation Module, by AKEPT (Akademi Kepimpinan Pengajian Tinggi).  As such, since 2012, she has been invited by AKEPT to conduct training for university lecturers, on how to motivate and engage learners in higher education context. She was the founding Director of Institute for Advanced Research in Education in UUM, former Deputy of the University Teaching and Learning Centre, UUM.  Currently, she is a PhD coordinator and research fellow of the Institute for Excellent Teachers and Leaders in Education.  She has more than 25 years of teaching experience.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waheed Ali Umrani
is currently serving as Associate Professor, at the Business School, Sukkur Institute of Business Administration University, Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan. He has published several case studies and research papers in high impact journals. His publications have earned space in high quality (impact factor) journals such as: Academy of Management Proceedings, Personnel Review, Coporate Social Responsibility and Envrionmental Management, Leadership and Organization Development Journal, European Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Environmental Management, Global Business Review, Sage Open, Journal of Applied Bio behavioral Research, International Journal of Public Admisnistration, Journal of African Business to name a few.In addition, Dr. Umrani is founding director of Case Studies Research Centre at IBA Sukkur University. He is associate fellow of Center for Sustainability Research and Consultancy Pakistan. He has a brilliant career as master trainer/trainer in various areas of academic and research excellence.

Effectively addressing sustainability challenges in the age of industrial revolution 4.0 requires responsible teaching and research in higher education specially business schools where most of the leadership is nurtured to take resource allocation positions in economy, business and society. Role of business schools and corporate sector is essentially vital for enabling dialogue and practice of responsible teaching and research specially in emerging and developing economies where large part of sustainability challenges exist.

Yet another shining part of 4th IRC 2019 is its flagship panel discussion namely, Great Debate 2019, whereby the panelists from industry and academia share their scholarship and experience to reconcile over sustainability issues in emerging and developing economies. The panel discussion is part of the plenary session of the conference. This year the Great Debate 2019 is titled as:

 

Deans’ Dialogue on Responsible Research and Teaching in Business Schools to address Sustainability Challenges in Emerging Economies 

The panel discussion is in collaboration with UN Principles of Responsible Management Education (UN PRME-ASEAN chapter). The distinguished panel discussants comprising of Deans from top business schools in Asia will reflect on their scholarship and experience to highlight issues and prospects in higher education in business schools. This Great Debate 2019 will focus on enabling and strengthening of responsible research and teaching endeavors at business schools in order to address the challenges of sustainability faced by economy, business and society in emerging and developing economies.

The 4th International Research Conference on Economics, Business and Social Sciences is honored to have distinguished sponsoring journals. All accepted full papers will be published in either of the sponsoring journals. 

WORKSHOP ON GUIDE TO GETTING PUBLISHED
The conference program also includes high-valued Workshop ‘Guide to Getting Published’ for the participants. The editorial delegate from reputed international publishers and senior editors of ISI/Scopus indexed journals will deliver the workshop related to journal writing and publishing in the areas of economics, business and social sciences. Participating faculty members and research scholars will get excellent opportunity to interact and network with the editorial staff of high impact journals and get hands-on information related to publication opportunities and research support funding. The participants of workshop will be awarded workshop certificate as well in addition to the conference presentation certificate.

Those early come participants registered before the due date will be entitled to free entry to the workshop. Participants registered after due date will have to pay fee (RM 200) for the workshop.

CONFERENCE TRACKS
Both empirical and conceptual research papers (abstract/work-in-progress papers or full paper) can be submitted in the various sub-areas of Economics, Business Management, Accounting and Finance and Social Sciences/Arts/Humanities.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS AND PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITY
Conference proceedings, in the form of book of abstracts with ISBN and ISSN, will be published by the Center for Sustainability Research and Consultancy and University Press of Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Pakistan. The conference proceedings will be available on conference website in downloadable form.

The 4th International Research Conference on Economics, Business and Social Sciences is honored to have distinguished sponsoring journals. All accepted full papers will be published in either of the sponsoring journals. 

WORKSHOP ON GUIDE TO GETTING PUBLISHED
The conference program also includes high-valued Workshop ‘Guide to Getting Published’ for the participants. The editorial delegate from reputed international publishers and senior editors of ISI/Scopus indexed journals will deliver the workshop related to journal writing and publishing in the areas of economics, business and social sciences. Participating faculty members and research scholars will get excellent opportunity to interact and network with the editorial staff of high impact journals and get hands-on information related to publication opportunities and research support funding. The participants of workshop will be awarded workshop certificate as well in addition to the conference presentation certificate.

Those early come participants registered before the due date will be entitled to free entry to the workshop. Participants registered after due date will have to pay fee (RM 200) for the workshop.

MEMBERSHIP, AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES
All conference participants will be offered free membership to become Research Associate of the Center for Sustainability Research and Consultancy. This will allow you to be part of collaborative research projects with international community of scholars and enhance your research output in a meaningful way to impact the world around. The members will also be able join our future conferences, seminars and workshops at a discounted rate. Best Paper Award and Outstanding Paper award in each track will be conferred.

CONFERENCE CERTIFICATES
Certificate of presentation will be issued to participants for presenting their research at the conference. Certificate of chairing a session will be issued to session chairs acknowledging their contribution in the conference. The participants of Guide to Getting Published workshop will be awarded workshop certificate. The participants will also receive membership certificate of CSRC as Research Associate. Certificate of Best Paper Award and Outstanding Paper Presentation award in each track will be conferred.

Effectively addressing sustainability challenges in the age of industrial revolution 4.0 requires responsible teaching and research in higher education specially business schools where most of the leadership is nurtured to take resource allocation positions in economy, business and society. Role of business schools and corporate sector is essentially vital for enabling dialogue and practice of responsible teaching and research specially in emerging and developing economies where large part of sustainability challenges exist.

Yet another shining part of 4th IRC 2019 is its flagship panel discussion namely, Great Debate 2019, whereby the panelists from industry and academia share their scholarship and experience to reconcile over sustainability issues in emerging and developing economies. The panel discussion is part of the plenary session of the conference. This year the Great Debate 2019 is titled as:

 

Deans’ Dialogue on Responsible Research and Teaching in Business Schools to address Sustainability Challenges in Emerging Economies 

The panel discussion is in collaboration with UN Principles of Responsible Management Education (UN PRME-ASEAN chapter). The distinguished panel discussants comprising of Deans from top business schools in Asia will reflect on their scholarship and experience to highlight issues and prospects in higher education in business schools. This Great Debate 2019 will focus on enabling and strengthening of responsible research and teaching endeavors at business schools in order to address the challenges of sustainability faced by economy, business and society in emerging and developing economies.
